Okay folkses, I am still in a bit of a hazy daze so this may not come out as eloquent as it could or should be but here goes. The four best things about BM for me were (in order of appearance) Cheshire Cat vehicle, Bunny invasion of Thunder Dome (Thumper Dome!), Monkey Tree and Albino! There was such an over abundance of techno "untz untz" out there that I spent one solo night on a quest to find any music that was NOT techno. Sadly, I did not succeed that night but our lovely Albino! fixed all that. Two amazing shows and I believe that now Miss Bootay and the Boys have slid right into my #1 favorite band spot! Cheese who?

        damn!
thought we registered ALBINO! at center camp.?
        bummer.
well, next year we plan on having an afrobeat theme camp; Kicking out the Fela and other afrobeat jams to counteract the ill effects of the techno overload.
See you all at decompression. or the GAMH on Nov. 9th!

Looks like Seiwu and I will bee seeing out playa faves in Nevada CIty at the MIners Foundry in Oct!! backyard show!

I concurr with this post.....for those who couldnt find Albino, they are VERY good about giving tip top info pre burn. Just remember to check back here next year or get on their mailing list. AFRO BEaT CAMP? Fela wood bee proud! Were going to make up for lost time next year and find you guys this time.....we drove around the 9:00 forever but you know how it goes.......

We are sorry to of missed the most famous set on the playa during the storm. WE TRIED! Halfway accross the claypool and the storm took us over and we settled into 6:00 by the purple palace art bus. We were stuck there. I knew epicness was happening a quarter clock away but there was no way. Im still thrilled and overjoyed about the Otter set and the Center camp set. Otter set set me into the perfect burn mode I hope for all week.

All we need for the Nevada City show is a bucket of playa dust so seiwu can give efficient playa stamp spankings again.......

I was there in that dust storm dancing my ass off on the carousel to the immediate left of the band (with a serious respirator and my angelfish mask tucked under my goggles). It was a big part of one of the greatest days of my life. I'm not sure how it was even possible for the horns to play through all that dust. I hunted this tribe down through google just to say thanks! No funk on the playa can alude me for long.

Other musical highlights this burn include following a funky bass line across my camp and ending up charging my camera battery off of Uriah Duffy's (a la White Snake and Lyrics Born) generator and being adopted by a small music collective called Funky Town, as well as doing some serious dancing to the insanely good music of London based dub master DJ Juan Thymes (aka Alex) at the Flying Monkey.

I will be hunting down your Afro Beat Camp with certainty come 2008. In a completely unrelated coincedence, my Mom is actually an Albino, so I think she going to love the story of how her daughter danced on a magical carousel in the desert during a white out to the groovtastic sounds of Albino. Again, many thanks

I never did make it to an ALBINO! set out there but Thumperdome was one of my highlights of the week too! That and the monkeys and the monkey chants and climbing tall shit.

I too am not an OONTZ person either and sadly, it is the backstreets of BRC that you must visit for the Jazz Cafes and jamband sets and such, but they are there. The energy of Opulent Temple drains me, if you can understand that. Not from dancing, just from being there. It is a decent scene for people watching though if you just want to sit still. An Afrobeat Camp would be a dream come true!!!

Anyway, I'm rambling here and I didn't even catch ALBINO! out there, sorry to say. I did want to make it to the post-burn show, but I will just have to catch that Miners show on 10/20!! It will be supersweet to see them play there v. crampy Coop's. sooo hope to see you folks then!

Yep, ALBINO! is playing SF decom
still working out set times but most likely the inside stage (cocomo) late night. We played around 11pm last year so we'll probably do something like that this year.
Things get a little around that time...

I wish I could go to the decom madness..........I'll be back east =/

Sage, we'll have to all reconnect and have our own style Decompression at the Foundry on Oct 20th! Lets plan on dressing silly fun, we'll bring the cool neon toys, Nevada City will be out with a vengeance.......I Cant wait!!!

And I look forward to getting back to the burbs at BM 08....I really mised it this year being on the big shot Esplanade. I cant deny the love and compassion that Lustre village has, which is why I took the experience....and was thankful.....but oh man, not enough spread out room, so much UNTZ.....at least I broke myself into the craziness of it all out there. But I look so forward to camping in the backstreets of BRC again......Afro beat camp FOOTHILL FREAKO CRASH PARTY!!!

You are on for Oct. 20th!!! (so long as I keep up on my studies)
Damn I wish I could stay for ALBINO! at SF Decom, but I am leaving early - back to the grind in the a.m.
